FAQs
If you are unable to find the answer to your question, please contact the school administrator at learningpathwaysacademy26@gmail.com
Do you offer before and after school care?
Learning Pathways Academy offers late pick-up care until 4:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $20 per day. A sibling discount is available at a rate of $10 per day for each additional child. Late pick-up services must be arranged in advance and will be billed in accordance with the school’s current fee schedule.
What is the teacher to student ratio?
Each class has 1 teacher and 10 students. Learning Pathways Academy maintains low teacher-to-student ratios to ensure individualized attention and a supportive learning environment.
What curriculum do you use?
Learning Pathways Academy uses a carefully selected mix of research-based programs to support each child’s growth. In math, students use Math With Confidence, while early literacy focuses on phonological awareness and phonics through Heggerty and UFLI. Reading instruction is guided by Rooted in Reading for younger students and The Good and The Beautiful for upper elementary. Writing and grammar are taught using Handwriting Without Tears, Fix It! Grammar, and Scholastic Success with Grammar. Science and social studies are explored with The Good and The Beautiful, giving students hands-on, engaging experiences that connect learning to the real world. This blend ensures that learning is meaningful, skill-building, and enjoyable.
What are enrichment options?
Enrichment includes art, STEM activities, weekly devotionals, and open-choice time where students can explore their interests. Students also have the opportunity to check out books from the King Public Library, encouraging a love of reading and independent learning.
What is your behavior policy?
Learning Pathways Academy uses a Student Behavior Points Scale to help students understand expectations, make positive choices, and take responsibility for their actions. This system assigns points based on the severity and frequency of behaviors and is designed to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.
What is the dress code?
Learning Pathways Academy expects students to dress in a manner that is appropriate, respectful, and safe for a school environment. Belly shirts and clothing with inappropriate graphics or messages are not permitted.
How do I enroll my child?
If open enrollment is currently closed, click the Info tab at the top of the website, then select the “Join the Waitlist” button and complete the form. If open enrollment is open, visit the home page and click the “Enroll” button to submit your information.
Is there a cafeteria?
Learning Pathways Academy does have a designated cafeteria. Students may also eat in their classrooms or outside at the picnic tables when weather permits.
Do you have a parent organization? PTA?
Learning Pathways Academy is currently working to establish a Parent Organization to support students, staff, and school activities. If you are interested in getting involved and helping our school community thrive, please contact the school director at knpoulsenlpa@gmail.com.
A Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents, teachers, and school staff who work together to support students and enhance the school community. PTAs typically organize events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities, provide input on school programs, and help create a positive and engaging environment for students.
Are there other options for lunch?
Students are expected to pack a lunch daily. Families also have the option to purchase lunch weekly through our order form with State of Graze. Please submit the order form by Friday of the previous week; lunches will be delivered on Monday morning for the week. Occasionally, we may offer additional lunch options from local vendors, such as Chick-fil-A. When this happens, families will be contacted with a separate order form to participate.
Will you offer middle school?
Learning Pathways Academy plans to expand to middle school grade levels in the future. For the 2027–2028 school year, we will open a 6th grade classroom. Additional grade levels beyond 6th have not yet been determined and will be announced as plans are finalized.
